Mr. Larry Dale Borgognoni

Mr. Larry Dale Borgognoni, age 53, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, in Southaven, Mississippi. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.  The service will be on Friday, June 30, at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Borgognoni was a member of the Catholic Church. He worked in marketing at Langston Co. in Memphis, TN.  Mr. Borgognoni is survived by his daughter, Courtney Elizabeth Borgognoni of Como, MS.  He is also survived by three sons:  Tyler James Borgognoni of Olive Branch, MS, Grant Harwood Borgognoni of Como, MS, and Collen Jude Borgognoni of Como, MS, as well as his parents, Paul and Barbara Borgognoni of Clarksdale, MS.  He is survived by his sisters, Meriam (Warren) Matthews of Clarksdale, MS, and Alice (Edward) Johnson of Clarksdale, MS, and his brothers, Paul Douglas Borgognoni, Roger Louis (Patricia) Borgognoni, Allen Daniel (Carol) Borgognoni, and Timothy Glenn (Kaye) Borgognoni of Cordova, TN.

Mrs. Barbara Ann Sewell

Mrs. Barbara Ann Sewell, age 76, passed away June 9, 2017 in Grenada, Mississippi.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at National Funeral Home, followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Sewell was a retired nurse from Merit Health Center in Clarksdale, Mississippi.  She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope, Mississippi, and Daughters of the Nile in Batesville, Mississippi.

Mrs. Sewell is survived by her daughters, Sheryl (Jeff) Cole of Marks, MS and Kacy Fisher of Pope, MS, as well as her son, Hugh (Lynn) Sewell of Pope, MS.  Mrs. Sewell is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Sewell, as well as her parents, Travis and Mattie Kate McGahey, Sr., and her brother, Travis H. McGahey, Jr.

Mr. Norman Scott Bonds

Mr. Norman Scott Bonds, age 46, passed away February 15, 2017 in Berea, Kentucky.  Mr. Bonds was born December 11, 1969, in Clarksdale, MS.  The family received friends Sunday, May 21, 2017, at 3:00p.m., for a graveside service at Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale, MS.

Mr. Bonds was the youngest of six children, raised at 1131 Carr Avenue and on his father’s four plantations:  Lombardy, Rabbit Ridge, Levee View, and Spring Hill.  He had a great love for the outdoors, new technology, and maintained a large collection of cars, helicopters, and drones.  Traveling extensively, he especially enjoyed deep-sea fishing in the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans and Lake Cumberland, Kentucky.

Mrs. Evelyn Honchell Bonds

Mrs. Evelyn Honchell Bonds, age 89, passed away May 17, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.  The family will receive friends beginning 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017, at National Funeral Home Chapel.  There will be a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. at Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale, MS.

Raising six children in Clarksdale, she was extensively involved in her church, St. Paul’s United Methodist, as well as various school PTAs, Cub Scouts, Garden Club, and much more. Her home was at 1131 Carr Avenue, which she designed and built with great pride alongside her husband Howard T. Bonds, Jr., a local planter and civil engineer. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Botany from Murray State University and her Master’s Studies in Microbiology at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Mrs. Bonds is survived by her daughter, Rosalind Bonds (Seattle, WA), as well as her sons, Stanley Bonds (Memphis, TN), Roger Bonds (Atlanta, GA), and Nelson Bonds (Memphis, TN).  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Chris and Alex Bonds (Atlanta, GA).  Mrs. Bonds was preceded in death by her husband, Howard T. Bonds, Jr., and her sons, Charles Allen Bonds and Norman Scott Bonds, and grandson Matthew Benjamin Bonds. Norman Bonds will be interred alongside her.

Mrs. Kathleen Bennett, age 94, passed away May 15, 2017 in Southaven, Mississippi. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 1:30p.m. until 2:00p.m. followed by the service at 2:00p.m. at National Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be at Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

Mrs. Bennett was a member of Clarksdale Baptist Church and a resident of Wesley Meadows in Hernando, Mississippi. She was a retired employee of Oakhurst Elementary School in Clarksdale, Mississippi.  Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughters, Linda Jean (Donnie) Smith of Independence, MS, and Marsha Lee Lentz of Navarre Beach, FL, as well as daughter-in-law Brenda Bennett Lovito of Greenville, TN.  Mrs. Bennett is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin O. “Goat” Bennett, Sr., and her son, Marvin O. Bennett, Jr.
