Larree DeAnn Cole Smith, 56, retired business manager for Moore Tech passed away October 22, 2017. The family will receive friends Saturday (Nov 4) from noon until the memorial service at 2:00pm at the Millington Chapel. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Cole and is survived by her daughter, Tabatha Smith; father, Larry Cole; sisters, DeNae Morris (Jimmy) and Debbye Cole; brother, Darren Cole (Clara); granddaughters, Kassidy Smith and Cayla Smith.

Ursula May Klein Phares

Ursula May Klein Phares, 92, of Millington, TN passed away October 16, 2017 in Meridian, MS. Mrs. Phares was born in Parrametta New South Wales, Australia and resided in Millington, TN for 67 years. Mrs. Phares was a life member of the VFW Post 7175, Women’s Auxillary Military Order of the Cootie, and the Fleet Reserve. She was preceded in death by Maurice G. Phares and Rivers Justus Norton. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Holley; sons, Donald M. Justus, Jr.  (Jacqueline) and Dr. Robert S. Justus (Mary Beth); brother, Curly Klein; grandchildren, Stafford Justus (Michelle), Dr. Brock Martin, Jarrod Justus, Alex Martin (Blakely), Audrey Norton (Ray), and Allison May Justus; great-grandchildren, Maci Manning, Jackson Justus, Shelby Justus, Rivers Justus Norton, and Brooks Robert Norton; neice, Denise Humphries (Mike); nephew, Terry. The family will receive friends Friday (Nov 3) at the Millington Chapel from 11:30am – 1:00pm with a graveside service at 2:00pm at Memphis National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

James Carroll Bigley

James Carroll Bigley, 58, of Munford, TN, formerly of Medina, OH passed away October 21, 2017. Mr. Bigley was a computer technician, an Elder of West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and retired from the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, Rolland Bigley and brother, Dana Bigley. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Bigley; sons, James Carroll Bigley II of OH and Jacob Alan (Michelle) Bigley of NC; mother, Mona Bigley of TN; brother, Dan (Karen) Bigley of VA; four grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday (Oct 26) at West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 9:00am until the service at 10:00am. Interment to follow in New York Cemetery in Ripley, MS at 1:00pm.

June McConnell Rodgers

June McConnell Rodgers, 90, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2017. June was born in Hickman, KY on June 5, 1927.  She moved to Memphis in 1951, graduated from Memphis Business School andJune Rodgers began working in the County Trustees Office. In the years that followed, June would become a Kentucky Fried Chicken Franchisee and one of the early investors in Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers. June was a member and volunteer for the St. Josephine Circle, The Variety Club, The Baddour Center, Ave Maria Guild and Sphinx Grand Krewe Carnival where she was Queen in 1982.

June is preceded in death by her parents Hester Gray McConnell and Ernest Robert McConnell, her brothers Robert Cecil McConnell, James Edward McConnell, Charles Ernest McConnell and sisters, Jean McConnell Oberste and Katie McConnell Willis and her daughter, Linda Rodgers Wray. She is survived by her son, Charles Lee Rodgers (Ellen), her grandchildren Andrew M. Wray, IV (Dawn), LeeAnne Wray Kasper (Ken), Shelley Rodgers, Chad Rodgers, Bethany Canale (Adam) and John Flint (Laura). June also leaves behind great-grandchildren Max, Allison, Eric, Trevin, Lauren, Sydney, Hill, Sterling, Bennett, and Charlie along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. June “Nannie” will forever be remembered for her giving spirit and love for her family.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Ave Maria Home for the kindness, support and care they provided. Visitation will be October 25th from 10:00-11:00 at the Rotunda at Memorial Park Mausoleum, with a private family service following. In lieu of flowers, June’s family request donations to be sent to Immaculate Conception High School “Sisters Scholarship” Fund, St. Jude or the charity of choice.

Richard Anthony Melton

Richard Anthony Melton, 32, of Millington, TN passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN. “Ricky” is survived by his three beautiful children, Emma (11), Dawson (6) and Lily (2 wks); his father, Richard Melton and step-mother, Michele; his brothers, Christopher, Brandon, Daniel, and T.J; sister, Brittani; grandparents, Van and Paulette Melton of Lexington, TN, Don Thweatt of Memphis, TN and Margaret Compton of Coldwater, MS; five nephews; one niece; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ricky is preceded in death by his mother Kelly Lynn Lovett. The family will receive friends Thursday, (Oct 19) from 4:30 p.m. until the service at 6:30 p.m. at the Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel, 7450 Raleigh Millington Rd, Millington, TN 38053.
