Joyce Marleen (Sanders) Mitchell

Joyce Marleen (Sanders) Mitchell, 77, of Millington, TN loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away October 31, 2016. Mrs. Mitchell was an avid quilter and reader, loved fishing, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and long standing member of Richland ARP Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday (Nov 2) from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the Millington Chapel with a service Thursday at 10:00am at Richland ARP Church in Rosemark. Interment to follow in Bethuel Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Bob Mitchell; children, Doug (Debbie) Hinton of Houston, TX; Terri (Jeff) Shearer of Jacksonville, FL, Susan (David) Buford of Aurora, IN, Vador Vance, Eva Posch, and Tippi Timbs all of Memphis, TN; siblings, Jerry Sanders of Lebanon, TN, Barbara Thomason of Millington, TN, and Steve Sanders of Knoxville, TN; 14  grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. MaDonna Lynn Luttman

MaDonna Lynn Luttman, 52, of Munford, TN passed away October 29, 2016. Mrs. Luttman was a nursing assistant at St. Francis Hospital and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday (Nov 1) from 2:00pm until the service at 3:00pm at the Millington Chapel. Interment to follow in Macedonia Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her father, Hershal Jones and a sister, Rebekah Jones. She is survived by her husband, Bob Luttman; daughter, Abbie Lauren Luttman; son, Robert James Luttman;  mother, Mary Jones; sisters, Kitty Carrol and Anna Tam; brother,  James Jones; three grandchildren.

Sadie Mae "Tutu" Dugger

Sadie Mae Dugger, 90, of Millington passed away October 25, 2016. Sadie was the widow of Lt. Cdr. Joseph Dugger, USN Ret. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Millington; a beloved Navy wife, mother, and world traveler. Known to everyone as Tutu, she was the lady every lady wanted to be. She loved bowling, golf, trashy romance novels, crossword puzzles, knitting, and ceramics, but most of all cooking. Her recipe for “Sadie Taters” has been a regular staple for all military functions for the past 40 years. She will be very much missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Jerry (Leo) Jenkins of Millington; sons, William Dugger of Millington and Edward Dugger of Jackson, TN; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday (Oct 27) from 5pm – 8pm with a service Friday (Oct 28) at 11:00 am at the Millington Chapel. Interment to follow in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.

Sara F. Garrett, 66, of Memphis, TN formerly of Bartlett, TN passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on October 19, 2016. Mom was a warrior and through the daily battles, the love for her family and her sweet spirit never waivered. God’s grace was sufficient for Mom. She was preceded in death by her father, James “Nat” Williamson; mother, Bobbie F. Byrd; step-father, Thomas E. Byrd; brother, Carl Williamson; and grandson, Taylor Garrett. She is survived by her sons, Mitch Garrett of Madison, AL, Timothy (Maria) Garrett of Memphis, TN; step-mother, Shirley Chorley; brother, Tommy (Diane) Williamson of Collierville, TN, Kenneth (Leigh) Williamson of Drummonds, TN, Jimmy (Linda) Williamson of Drummonds, TN; three grandchildren, Reagan Garrett, Clifton Garrett, Hunter Kubitz. The family will receive friends Saturday (Oct 22) from 10:00am until the memorial service at 11:30am at the Millington Chapel. The family asks any memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County.

Sonny Lynn Phillips

Sonny Lynn Phillips passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016. He battled cancer and won, gaining his wings on this day as he passed away with his wife and family beside him in his home. Preceding him in death was his mother, Rua Nora Phillips, his father, Theodore William Phillips of Amarillo, TX, a sister Carolyn Marie Word of Amarillo, TX. He leaves behind but waiting patiently at Heaven's gates for the love of his life, his wife, Rachelle Davidson-Phillips. They built a life only most would dream of with a marriage of 25 years. His children include Regina Sands of Sulphur, OK, Susie Wells of Ft. Worth, TX, Crystal Phillips-Stevens of Atoka, TN, Kiley Phillips-Nichols of Covington, TN, Lauren Goff of Millington, TN, Whitney Goff of Atoka, TN, Chayne Phillips of Covington, TN and a God-son Michael Morgan. He has 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He worked his life building his business, Classic Marble & Tile. He will be truly missed. His stories were amazing to listen to, his knowledge about life was extreme and he was a true leader for his family and friends. He was a man of his word and was cherished by so many.

The family will receive friends at a catered reception Sunday, October 9 from 5-8 pm. and service will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 10 both at Millington Chapel. Burial will be in Clopton Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Tennessee Baptist Boys Ranch, Millington, TN.
