Mary Frances Ference

Mary Frances Ference, 68, of Millington, TN passed away December 9, 2015. Mary was a member and employee of the VFW Post 7175, H & R Block, and the Navy Exchange at NAS Millington. Her true happiness was being a mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Ference, Sr. and her step-daughter, Katherine Hudson. She is survived by her sons, Richard J. Ference Jr., Christopher (Jill) Ference; step-daughter, Traci Ference; sister, Leann Finan; brother, Dennis Martin; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at a catered reception Monday (Jan 4) from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Millington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks any memorials be made to the MS Foundation.

Mona Davis Harris

Mona Davis Harris, 64, of Memphis, TN passed away December 28, 2015. Mrs. Harris was an administrative assistant at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet. The family will receive friends at a catered reception Sunday (Jan 3) from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at the Millington Chapel. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Scott Sivley. She is survived by her husband, Michael R. Harris; daughter, Eden Nicole Davis of Bartlett, TN; sons, Michael Edward Sivley of Memphis, TN and Franklin Mark Sivley of Hernando, MS; sister, Susan Jean Tilman of Enid, MS; six grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Sivley, Michael John Sivley, Hannah Gayle Parlow, Haiden Grace Stone, Hogan Georgeann Stone, and Dylan Sivley; one niece and two nephews.

Michael A. "Whitey" Plotner - USN ret.

Michael A. “Whitey” Plotner, 59, of Tipton County, TN passed away December 26, 2015. Mr. Plotner was a retired AE in the US Navy, a lifetime member of VFW Post 7175 and the “Cooties”. The family will have a Celebration of Life service January 13, 2016 at the VFW (time to be determined) He is survived by his wife, Diane Plotner; daughters, Alicia Plotner and Venus Plotner both of Tipton County, TN; sons, Michael Plotner II of Tipton County, TN, Ronnie Jenkins Jr. of Horn Lake, MS, David Jenkins of Arlington, TN, Timothy Harnage of Tipton County, TN and Donald Plotner of AL; sister, Nancy Plotner of IN; brother, Timothy Plotner of Tipton County, TN; one grandchild.

Mary Martin

Mary Martin, 88, of Bartlett, TN passed away December 21, 2015. Mrs. Martin was
a member of Bartlett Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at a
catered reception Wednesday (Dec 23) from 9:00 am until the service at 11:00 am at
the Millington Chapel. Interment to follow in Ravenscroft Cemetery. She was preceded
in death by her parents, David and Mary White; sisters, Ora Knight and Louise
Hartsfield; brothers, Clyde White, Johnny White, and Howard White. She is survived by
her husband, Reynard Martin; children, Joy Burnett (Glenn) of Arlington, TN, Jean
Martin of Millington, TN, and Doug Martin (Leslie) of Hamilton, AL; 11 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. The family asks any memorials
be made to Bartlett BaptistChurch.

Shirley Ann Stanley

StanleyShirley Ann Stanley of Millington passed away peacefully after a brave fight with cancer. She was 78 years old. She leaves her husband of 56 years, Corbet Stanley, three children: Carl Stanley, Eugenia Sumner and Lisa Albert, all of Bartlett; and three grandchildren: Vernon Sumner, Claire Arrison and Anne Albert. She is also survived by a sister, Ann Smith of Williston, South Carolina. She was born in Erie, PA on November 12, 1937. As a child, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida. In 1959 she married Corbet, who was serving in the U.S. Navy. She was active in the Navy Wives clubs at the various duty stations they were assigned to. While in Beauford, South Carolina she took art classes and developed a talent for painting in water colors. She exhibited and sold her work at a local art gallery. Corbet retired from the Navy at the Millington Naval Air Station and they decided to stay. Shirley attended the Millington First United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women. In Millington, she took up an interest in archery and at one point was a Tennessee State Champion. Shirley enjoyed old-time and bluegrass music and played the autoharp. She loved performing with Corbet, who plays mountain dulcimer. Together, they travelled the country in their RV. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. The family will receive friends at a catered reception Tuesday, December 22 from 1-2 p.m. with service to follow at 2 p.m. at Millington Chapel. Interment will be in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
