Hassie B. Pearson

pearsonHassie B. Pearson, 76, of Millington, TN retired dietary manager at Midsouth Christian Nursing Home died June 30, 2015 in Memphis, TN. The widow of David Pearson III, she is survived by her son, David Pearson IV of Millington, TN; sisters, Betty Shewmake of Monroe, TN and Jewel Dennis of Akron, OH. The family will receive friends at a catered reception Wednesday (July 1) from 6 pm – 8 pm at the Millington Chapel with a service Thursday at  11:00 am at the Millington Chapel.

Thomas Page Goin

Thomas Page Goin, 77, passed away from cancer at his home June 30, 2015. Born
October 29, 1937 in Arlington, KY to the late Thomas Lee Goin and Alberta Page Goin.
He moved to Millington, TN in 1940.  A 1957 graduate of Millington Central High
School, he was elected three years as class president, and, in recent years, he
enjoyed quarterly lunches at Old Timers restaurant with his classmates. On June 8,
1958, Tommy married his high school sweetheart, Ann Fowlkes. In their 57 years of
marriage, they enjoyed many wonderful trips together traveling the smaller roads of
all the lower 48 states. Many of these fun trips included their two daughters and
later their parents. He also like to camp, fish, collect fishing lures, and play
pinochle. Tommy served his country as a member of the Air Force Reserve, worked 6
years at Dupont, and then retired January 1993 from The Memphis Fire Department.
On his days off he helped his dad at Goin’s Shoe Repair in Millington. A faithful
member since 1937 of the Millington First United Methodist Church, he served the
church in a variety of ways including singing bass in the chancel choir. Tommy is
survived by his wife Ann; his daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Mark Williams of Lake
Cormorant, MS; his daughter Michelle Goin of Fort Myers, FL; his grandson Lake
Williams and granddaughter Anna Claire Williams both of Lake Cormorant, MS; his
sister, Melda Brady of Olive Branch, MS; and his brother and sister-in-law Terry and
Jan Goin of Tupelo, MS. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Munford Funeral Home - Millington Chapel on Raleigh-Millington Road from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Millington on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be held at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery on Hwy 51 N. in Millington immediately following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Millington First United Methodist Church or to your favorite charity.

El Verna G. "Nini" Fachini

El Verna G. “Nini” Fachini, 61, of Millington, TN died June 27, 2015. She made
her home and raised her children in Drummonds, TN. She was a devout Catholic who has
always been committed to her faith. Ms. Fachini is survived by her four children,
Maria (Randy) Cater, Heather (Bobby) Landrum, Jessica Fachini, Martin (Shannon)
Fachini; sisters, Dorothy Jones and Janet (Ed) White; brothers, Joseph (Shirley)
Grassie, Jr. and Patrick Grassie, Sr.; aunt, Rebecca Ashley; 10 grandchildren; a
gaggle of nieces and nephews; a clan of cousins; her grand-cat, Kevin;  who all
cherished her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Joseph
Grassie Sr.; her infant daughter, Angel Fachini; and god son, Zachary Grassie. The
family will receive friends at a catered reception Tuesday (June 30) from 5 pm – 8 pm
at the Millington Chapel with a mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at  11:00 am at St.
William Catholic Church. Entombment to follow in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.
Any memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

KIMBERLY ANN DOUGLAS, 37, originally of Millington, TN, passed away on June 17, 2015
after a year long battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Douglas
of Millington, TN; her sister, Sara Mays of Midlothian, VA and was
preceded in death by her father, Raymond L. Douglas. Kim was a graduate of
Millington Central High School, 1996, and the University of Mississippi, 2000. She
will be remembered for her sense of humor, loyalty, generously and fighting spirit
by all that knew her. Please join us Tuesday, June 23 at Old Timers
Restaurant, 7918 C Street, Millington, TN from 6-8 p.m. to celebrate Kim’s life. The
family requests that memorials benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
