Samuel H. Timbs

Samuel H. Timbs, 49, of Millington, died May 29 at Methodist North Hospital. Mr. Timbs was a kitchen repair specialist for Shelby County Schools. The family will receive friends at a catered reception Monday, June 2 from 5 - 8 pm and services will be Tuesday, June 3 at 10 am at the Millington Chapel. He leaves behind his only child Katie Timbs, his "Shorty Girl" and his beloved wife of 25 years Melanie Timbs, a love that lasted forever and always. He also leaves his sister, Nell Cotner; brother, Randy Timbs and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Timbs was preceded in death by his parents, James "Pop" and Jean Ervin Timbs and one sister, Laura Eslinger. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Karin Jutta Ridley & Russell D. Ridley

Karin Jutta Ridley passed away May 26, 2014 and Russell D. Ridley passed away May
27, 2014 at Methodist North Hospital. Mrs. Ridley was a former H&R Block manager who
enjoyed crocheting and reading. Mr. Ridley was retired from the US Navy, a member of
the VFW Post 7175, and enjoyed fishing, reading, and collecting trains. They were the
owners of Millington Awards & Trophies and together they enjoyed spoiling their
grandkids and great-grandkids. They are survived by their children, Petrina Cole,
Denise Clark, Paula Davis, Elizabeth Milam, Matthew Ridley, and Michael Ridley; 13
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at a catered
reception Saturday (May 31) from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am at the
Millington Chapel. Interment will be Wednesday at 1:45 pm at West Tennessee Veterans
Cemetery. The family asks any memorials be made to the Navy Relief Society.

James Carter, 79, of Millington, passed away May 27, 2014. Mr. Carter is survived
by his wife, Patsy C. Carter; children, Carol Lynn McHann (Robin Michael) of Southaven, MS,
James Timothy (Kim) Carter of Brighton, TN, William David (Deanna) Carter of Millington, TN, Patricia Lynn (Bubba) Martin of Millington, TN, Jonathan Lee (Tiffany) Carter of Millington, TN; brother, Albert (Annie) Carter of Linden, TN; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at a catered reception Thursday (May 29) from 5-8 pm with a service Friday at 10:00 am at the Millington Chapel with interment to follow at Helen Crigger Cemetery.

Delois Johnson Flanagan

Delois Johnson Flanagan, 78, of Arlington, retired cashier from Millington Wal-Mart,
passed away May 4, 2014. She was a member of Bolton Full Gospel Church in Arlington,
TN. She was predeceased by her husbands, J.B. Johnson and Roy Flanagan; siblings,
Mary Anderson, Dorothy Carter, Wesley Horn, and Robert Horn; great-grandson, Jeffrey
Laird. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (John) Hanks of Rosemark, TN and Ann
York of National City, MI; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two
great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at a catered reception
Wednesday (May 7) from 6 pm-8 pm at the Millington Chapel with additional visitation
on Thursday from 12:30 pm until the service at 2:00 pm at Fowler Sullivan Funeral
Home in Neelyville, MO.  Interment will be in Sumac Cemetery in Holcomb, MO. Any memorials may be made to Bolton Full Gospel.

Roy E. "Poppywood" Underwood

ROY E. “Poppywood” UNDERWOOD, 79, of Millington died May 2, 2014 at Methodist North Hospital. He was a retired Mechanic for Shaw Material Handling and a member of First Baptist Church Millington. The family will receive friends at a catered reception from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 4 at Millington Chapel. Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 5 at First Baptist Church, Millington. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Erika Underwood; daughter, Wendy G. Williams (Michael); son Glen J. Underwood (Cathy); sister, Carol Banz; brother, Donald Underwood, eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. One brother, Ronald Underwood, preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
