Jimmie I. Hamby

JIMMIE I. HAMBY, 93, of Lakeland, homemaker, died December 27, 2013 at Methodist Hospice. She had been a member of New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1951. The family will receive friends Monday, December 30 from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. at Millington Chapel. She was the widow of Rudolph F. Hamby. She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Hamby, Rudy Hamby; her brother, Bob Mixon; five grandchildren, Ronald W. Hamby, Christy Hamby, Randy Hamby, Jason Hamby and Richard Hamby; three great-grandchildren, Zak Hamby, Wes Shaw, Bo Hamby. David Herbert "Buck" Sigler, Sr.

David Herbert “Buck” Sigler, Sr. 84, died December 23, 2013. Born in Millington, Tennessee on November 8, 1929, he was the seventh child of William Virgil and Claudie Mae Sigler. After his graduation from Millington Central High School, he began his career in farming. On August 6, 1966, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Clark, to whom he remained married until she preceded him in death in 2010. Together, they raised three children and spent time managing the family farm and serving their community and church. Buck served on various boards including Shelby County Farm Bureau, Farm Service Agency, and Tipton-Rosemark Academy. At First United Methodist Church of Millington, he was active in several roles serving on the administrative board, board of trustees, and staff parish committee. He had fond memories of helping with the youth group there. He is survived by his three children, David H. Sigler, Jr. (Sandra) of Millington, TN, Philip D. Sigler (Emily) of Atoka, TN, and Melanie S. Butler (Jason) of Bartlett, TN; and his four grandchildren, Alice and Delia Sigler and Dillon and Caleb Butler. Buck was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now with his heavenly Father. The family requests that any memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church of Millington. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 26, at Munford Funeral Home, Millington Chapel. Service will be at First United Methodist Church of Millington at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 27. Burial will follow in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington.

Barry King

Barry King, 56, of Millington, TN passed away December 15, 2013. Mr. King was
a minister to all in addition to a prison ministry and enjoyed Nascar Racing and golf.
He loved the Lord and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his
parents, JoAnn Dolan, Jerry Everett King, and step-father, KennethRedmond; brothers,
Gary Neal King and Jeffrey L. Matthews. He is survived by his wife, Angela Schrichte
King; daughters, Angel Riggs of Joshua, TX and Michaela King of Millington, TN; sons,
Barry King II of Cleburne, TX, Chris King of Nashville, TN, and Joshua King of
Millington, TN; sisters, Valerie Cresswell of Memphis, TN and Carla Paratore of
Arlington, TN; brothers, Jerry (Jay) King II of Atoka, Jeff Matthews of Atoka, Kelly
Matthews of Memphis; step-mother, Jo King of Arlington, TN; eight grandchildren, one
great-grandchild.  The family will receive friends Friday (Dec 20) from 5pm-8pm with
a service Saturday at 11:00am at the Millington Chapel. Private interment to follow
at Memphis Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the West Clinic.

Michael Ray "Mike" Duncan

MICHAEL RAY “Mike” DUNCAN, 52, of Millington, retired registered nurse for Methodist North Hospital, died December 13, 2013 at Methodist North Hospital. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, December 15, and services will be 11 a.m., Monday, December 16, all at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel. Interment in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Mr. Duncan was a member of Millington First United Methodist Church and Millington Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie L. and Barbara Duncan. He leaves two daughters, Rachel Crawley (Mike) and Sara Brown (Allan); one son, Joshua Duncan; one sister, Cassandra McKenzie (Thomas); and four grand-children, Emma, Wyatt, Matthew, and Nolan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
