Mark Perry, 43, of Millington, passed away November 25, 2013. He is survived by his parents, James O. and Virginia Perry; sister, Gloria Beckham of Millington, TN; brothers, Joseph Perry of Millington, TN and Devland Wade Perry of Albert City, IA. The family will receive friends Friday, November 29 at the Millington Chapel from 5-6 p.m. A memorial service will be held Friday at 6 p.m.

LaNell McGee

LaNell McGee, former insurance agent for Joe Matthews Insurance Company, passed away November 26, 2013. The widow of Billy Joe McGee, she is survived by her children, Barbara Guthrie of Millington, Gary Guthrie of Olive Branch, MS, and Blaine McGee of Memphis; sister, Shirley Maes of Memphis; brother, Larry Young of Paducah, KY; one granddaughter, Raquel Vaughan. The family will receive friends Saturday (Nov 30) at the Millington Chapel from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Northridge Woodhaven.

Dorothy Biggs

Dorothy Biggs, 97, of Brighton, passed away November 20, 2013. The widow of James A.Biggs, she is survived by her children, Leonard Biggs, Reba Baker, and Wayne Biggs; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 pm-8 pm Thursday, (Nov 21) with a service Friday at 11:00am at the Millington Chapel with interment at Mudville Cemetery. The family asks any memorials be made to the Bolton Full Gospel Church.

Gerald William Reed

Gerald William Reed, 78, of Drummonds, went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2013. Mr. Reed was a retired orthopedic technician for Methodist Hospitals, an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Memphis Wrestling fan, and enjoyed gardening. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth L. Reed; beloved father of Randy Gerald (JoAnn) Reed, Renita (Steve) Myers, and John Alan (Meredith) Reed; brother of Dr. P.W. Reed; and adored grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Opal Clowes; brothers, Dr. Lloyd Reed, Dr. T.H. Reed, and Guy Reed. The family will receive friends from 5 pm-8 pm Friday, (Nov 22) with a service Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Millington Chapel with interment at Memory Hill Gardens. The family asks any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Fletcher Howard Goode, M.D.

Fletcher Howard Goode, M.D.,  was born on January 10, 1930, in Memphis, TN and was the fourth of five children of Q. B. and Estelle Goode.  After graduating from Messick High School, he started his pre-med studies at Memphis State College where he met his future wife, Ann Williams of Millington, TN.   After graduating from the University of Tennessee Medical School, Fletcher opened his office for general practice in Millington and practiced medicine there for 10 years before going back for specialization in Ophthalmology.  He returned to Millington and opened an eye clinic there.  Along with his practice, he was an associate professor of Ophthalmology at the medical school and was on the staff at St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital. UT Medical School recognized Fletcher with a ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award’ in 1996. Fletcher lived and shared his Christian faith with a caring and generous spirit toward everyone.  A member of Raleigh North Baptist Church, he was a deacon, Bible teacher, and sang in the choir. For many years he made medical mission trips to Africa, India, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala to give vision and hope to those people. Fletcher is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann;  his son, Harper and wife Dana; and grandchildren Taylor Ann, Shelby, Dalton, and David; brother, George Goode; sisters, Jean Black and Julia Harmon; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his precious daughter, Amy Ann, his parents, and his older brother William. Fletcher served his Lord and Savior faithfully every day. The family will receive friends at the Wednesday (Nov 20) from 5 pm-8 pm with a service Thursday at 11:00 am both at the Millington Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Memphis Union Mission.
