Mrs. Flora Mae Gentry

Marks, MS

Mrs. Flora Mae Gentry, age 88, passed away Wednesday evening, May 17, 2017 at Quitman County Health & Rehab in Marks. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until service time beginning 11:00 a.m. at Crowder Baptist Church in Crowder, MS. Interment to follow Bethel Cemetery in the Teasdale community.

Mrs. Flora Mae was a lifelong resident of Crowder,  a member of Crowder Baptist Church, and retired with Twenty-five years plus service from Garan Inc. in Lambert, MS.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sue Bridges of Lambert, MS., Monnie Ann White of Tazewell. TN., one son Riley (Pam) Gentry of Memphis, TN., Ten Grandchildren, Twenty-five Great Grandchildren, One Great-Great Grandchild and a host of Nieces & Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Gentry, her parents Clyde & Middie Long, one son Claude Gentry, a grand daughter, Yolanda Bridges Brown,  two sisters Willie Hendrix and Clara Gentry, one brother Jerry Long and several half sisters & brothers.

Ms. Sharon K. Larochelle

Hattiesburg, MS.

Ms. Sharon K. Larochelle, age 51, of Hattiesburg passed away Sunday May 14, 2017 at her residence. The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 17, 2017 from 12 noon until service time 2:00 p.m. at Memory Chapel in Laurel, MS. Bro. Richard Phillips will officiate.

Interment will be on Thursday May 18, 2017, 2:00 p.m., at Lambert Cemetery in Lambert, MS. Kimbro Funeral Home of Marks, MS. is in charge of the graveside with Dr. Laurie Jones and Bro. Will Overstreet officiating.

Ms. Larochelle was a homemaker and will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter and sister. She was a member of Venture Church in Hattiesburg, MS.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Faust of Marks, MS. one daughter Alex Larochelle, one son Nick Larochelle, two sisters Karen Cummins and Bug Broussard. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Faust.

Mrs. Mattie Pettit Mills

Marks, MS

Mrs. Mattie Pettit Mills, age 89, passed away late Sunday evening May 14, 2017  at her daughters  residence in Okolona, MS. There will be a visitation on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at Blue Lake Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., however, the body and family will remain at the church all night and a second visitation beginning 9:00 a.m. Wednesday May 17, 2017 until service time 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Lambert Cemetery.

Mrs. Mills was born April 07, 1928 to the late Jud & Minnie Pettit in Pontotoc County. During her lifetime she was a farmer's wife, owner of a country store for Forty years and a member of Blue Lake Baptist  Church.

She is survived by her daughter Diane (James) Carter of Okolona, MS.,two sons Jessie Lynn Mills of Lambert, MS., James Edward (Becky) Mills of Courtland, MS., Eleven Grandchildren, Twenty-two Great-Grandchildren and Three Great-Great Grandchildren.  Other than her parents, Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Edward Mills, four sisters Valier Tiller, Sophia Pettit, Lillian Pettit, and Mageline Knight, four brothers Phelon, Dock, Dossie and Jim Pettit.

Mr. Ottis "Buddy" Long Sr., age 90, passed away early Friday morning May 12, 2017 at his residence in Marks. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time beginning 2:00 p.m. at West Marks Baptist Church on Saturday May 13, 2017. Interment to follow in Marks Cemetery

Mr. Buddy served his country in the U.S. Army, was a Mason, Deacon Emeritus at West Marks Baptist Church, avid hunter and fisherman, loving husband, father, grandfather, great and great great grandfather and retired from Corp of Engineer.

Mr. Long is survived by his loving wife of Seventy-one years, Estella Marie Long of Marks, MS., five daughters Ila (Tommy) Clayton of Marks, MS., Judi (Walter) Ellard of Marks, MS., Gloria (and the late Louie) Day of Marks, MS., Vicki Barringer of Marks, MS., Cynthia (Tom) Showman of Willard, OH., one son Ottis (Melinda) Long Jr. of Marks, MS., four sisters Patricia Turnage of Orlando, FL., Otricia (Jerl) Jones of Marks, MS., Dottie (Ron) Muller of Cordova, TN., Jane (and the late Homer) Massey of Batesville, MS. Eighteen Grandchildren, Thirty-three Great Grandchildren and three Great- Great Grandchildren also survive Mr. Long. Mr. Curtis Lee "Buddy" Mills, age 89, passed away Thursday evening April 27, 2017 at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. The family will receive friends on Monday May 01, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until service time beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Interment will follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mr. Mills was a Veteran of U.S. Army, a mason, worship leader at Darling Baptist Church, a retired farmer, and founding member of Francis Landing Hunting Club.

Surviving Mr. Mills, his son Gary (Lynette) Mills of Memphis, TN., three grandchildren Hunter Mills of Nashville, TN., Lauren Mills of Memphis, TN., Mary Alden Mills of Nashville, TN., three sisters Irene Tortorich of Metairie.
