Mrs. Barbara Ann Davenport

Tillatoba, MS.

Barbara Ann Davenport, age 75, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. The family will hold a Memorial Service on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 beginning 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Coffeeville, MS.

Barbara was born, April 25, 1942 in Shaw, MS to the late Gracie L. and Luther M. Hughes. She will be remembered as a loving wife, sister, and grandmother. Her joys in life were the laughter and smiles of all the grand babies and great grand babies as well as working in her garden to make her yard as beautiful as she was. She was a kind, loving woman and will be loved and cherished for the rest of time.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Roy Lee Davenport of Tillatoba, MS., three daughters Diann Wardlaw of Madison, MS., Michelle Davenport of Tillatoba, MS., Joanna Melton of Carrollton, MS., three sons Glenn Davenport of Tillatoba, MS., Ronnie Davenport of Tillatoba, MS., Butch Davenport of Shaw, MS., four sisters Sara Brown of Long Beach, MS., Margie Hughes of Elliot, MS., Lorine Elliott of Tillatoba, MS., Laverne Denver of Watson, AR., one brother Keith Hughes of Water Valley, MS. Twenty- one Grandchildren and Thirty-one Great Grandchildren also survive Mrs. Davenport. Along with her parents, Luther & Gracie Hughes, Barbara was preceded in death by three daughters Becky, Elizabeth Darlene and Barbara Gail Davenport and one sister Jeanette Brock.

Major Michael Wayne Allen

Greenville, MS

Major Michael Wayne Allen, age 55, a retired Army Major and  Deputy U. S. Marshal, of Greenville, MS passed away, Tuesday,  June 20, 2017. Wayne Allen leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Melody Joy Wiggs Allen and his faithful dog, Ranger.

Wayne Allen was born on March 31, 1962 in Plant City, Florida to Mary Palmer Allen and J. E. Allen.  He was preceded in death by his beloved father.

In addition to his wife, Melody, he leaves to mourn his passing, his  mother and father in law, Brenda and Harold D. Wiggs of Marks, MS, brother in law Doug Wiggs also of Marks, his sister in laws Rhonda Connell (Greg) of Russellville, AR and Barbie Bassett (William) of Jackson, MS.  Nieces and nephews include, Heather Lambert (Zach), Josh Connell, Tiffany Sanders (Chris), Ty Connell (Kourtney), Jasa Connell, Kyle Wiggs, Gracie, Will, and Lilly Faith Bassett. Great niece Annie Lambert, great nephews Hunter and Caden Sanders and Rafe Connell. Also his mother, brother, Russell  Allen, sister Libby and nieces Amber and Ashley Allen.

Major Allen also leaves a host of family and dear friends.

Services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 am. at Crowder Baptist Church, 300 Yocona Street, Crowder, MS

Ms. Thelma Louise Mitchell, age 70, passed away early Monday morning, June 19, 2017 at Tallahatchie General Hospital Extended Care in Charleston, MS. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until service time beginning 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Ruleville-Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, MS.

Ms. Mitchell was retired from Levi Jeans in Ruleville, MS. and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lambert, MS.

Survivors include her two daughters Rhonda Jeffords and husband Mike of Marks, MS., Barbara Green and her daughter Meg of Lambert, MS., two sons James Orville Jr. (Melissa) Mitchell of Grandview, TX., Corey (Connie) Mitchell of Courtland, MS., two sisters Martha (Ricky) Bell of Strayhorn, MS., and Hazel Winter of Batesville, MS. Six Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren and a Special loved one, Donald "Bubba" Bell also survive Ms. Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Orville Mitchell Sr.

Mr. Burnice Eugene "Gene" Buckner

Marks, MS

Mr. Burnice Eugene "Gene" Buckner, age 80, passed away Friday, June 09, 2017 at Quitman Co. Health & Rehab in Marks, MS.  A memorial service celebrating Mr. Buckner's life will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks with the visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Marks Cemetery.

Gene was born May 19, 1937 to the late Burnice and Juanita Buckner. He was a retired warehouse manager for Mississippi Housing Authority in Gulfport, MS and loved all types of sports, especially Ole Miss.

Mr. Buckner is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey (Michelle) Buckner of Lambert, MS., Stephen (Misty) Buckner of Flowood, MS., two sisters, Lillie Brown of Marks, MS., and Sandy (Billy) Spencer of Gulfport, MS., Eleven Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild. Along with his parents, Mr. Buckner was preceded in death by his wife Donna Buckner and two sisters, Jo Hudson and Myrnita Grantham.

Mr. Carl "Doug" Bowles

Sledge, MS.

Mr. Carl "Doug" Bowles, age 61, passed away Wednesday morning May 24, 2017 at his sons residence in Cleveland, MS. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home. A Graveside service for Mr. Bowles will immediately  follow at 11:00 a.m. at Peach Creek Cemetery located on highway 315 near Sardis, MS. where the interment will follow as well.

Doug was a sheet metal worker and an avid gardner.

Mr. Bowles is survived by two daughters, Wendy (Mick) Jacobs of Williamsburg, VA., Renee Hudson of Pearl, MS., one son Carl Bowles of Cleveland, MS., three sisters Ann (James) McGregory of Batesville, MS., Ruby Turner of Water Valley, MS., and Christine (Homer) Stewart of Batesville, MS. Eight Grandchildren and three step Grandchildren also survive Mr. Bowles. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvis and Mattie Bowles, one son Carl Douglas Bowles Jr., and four brothers Larry, James, Charles, and Edgar Bowles.
