Mrs. Dorothy Sue Watkins Ford

Marks, MS

Mrs. Dorothy Sue Watkins Ford, age 88, passed away early Thursday morning December 14, 2017 at Providence Assisted Living in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 17, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until service time beginning 2:00 p.m. at Marks Presbyterian Church in Marks, MS. Interment to follow in Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, MS.

Mrs. Ford was a retired office manager for Entex Gas Co. and a member of Marks Presbyterian Church.

Among those left to cherish "Hot Dot's" memory are her nephews Gary Lewis (Judy) of Marks, MS; Buddy Watkins (Wanda) of Bruce, MS; Dale Watkins of Philadelphia, MS; Ted Watkins (Sarah) of Carthage, MS; Dickie Watkins (Jan) of Dallas, TX; her niece Paula Minder (Joe) of North Carolina; a host of Great & Great great niece & newphews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ford, her parents James & Kate Watkins, two sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Myrtle Mayo

Crenshaw, MS

Mrs. Myrtle Mayo, age 91, passed away at her residence in Crenshaw, MS Wednesday December 13, 2017. The family will receive friends on Saturday December 16, 2017 from 12 o'clock noon until service time beginning 2:00 p.m. at Hollywood Baptist Church in Sledge, MS. Interment will follow in Longtown Cemetery.

Mrs. Mayo was a retired inspector for William Carter Co. and was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church.

Survivors include  three sons Danny Mayo (Debra) of Horn Lake, MS; Jerry Mayo (Lindy) of Crenshaw. MS; Leslie Mayo of Crenshaw, MS; four sisters Annie Lue Ella Hamblin Matthews of Sledge, MS; Lillian Gertrude Hamblin Fair of West Point, MS; Frances Sara Hamblin Motes of Senath, MO; Mary Sue Hamblin McCarty of Southaven, MS; Eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Mayo, her parents James & Pauline Hamblin, two sons Stanley & Raborn Mayo, three sisters Jimmie Earline Hamblin Parrish, Flora Grace Hamblin Chism, Doris Marie Hamblin Mayo, three brothers Lacy Mack, James and William Roy Hamblin.

Frances Steed Welch

Pope, MS

Frances Steed Welch, age 70, passed away Tuesday November 28, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends at her residence in Pope, MS. The family will receive friends on Friday December 01, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until service time beginning 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks, MS. Interment to follow in Lambert Cemetery.

Frances loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters Mandy Vaughn (Malcolm) of Pope, MS; Cammy Chandler (Danny) of Lambert, MS; one son Shane Welch (Amanda) of Pope, MS; one sister Sherry Holloway of Pope, MS; thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde & Mary Steed, one daughter Sherry Varnell, two sisters and three brothers.

Vance, MS

Mr. Allen Fortner, age 73, passed away at his residence near Vance, MS. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 07, 2017 beginning 1:00 p.m. until the memorial service time at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks, MS. Interment to follow in Lambert Cemetery.

Mr. Fortner was the caretaker of Suffer Brake Hunting Club.

Allen is survived by his daughter Pam Scott of Bay St. Louis, MS; one son Luke Fortner of Jackson, MS; three grandchildren Brittany Geotes, Devon Scott and Ella Fortner; four sisters Betty Easley (Charles) of Olive Branch, MS; Rita Bolen (Ricky) of Myrtle, MS; Deborah Wimberly (Mike) of Clarksdale, MS; Wanda McClure (Charles) of Batesville, MS; three brothers Wallace Fortner (Barbara) of Maben, MS; Paul Fortner (Pam) of Sumner, MS; Stan Fortner (Nancy) of Batesville, MS. Mr. Andrew "Jack" Moore

Marks, MS

Mr. Andrew "Jack" Moore, age 97, passed away Friday evening October 20, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 24, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until service time beginning 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks, MS. Interment to follow in Lambert Cemetery.

Mr. Moore, a retired Lieutenant of Memphis Defense Depot,a crappie fisherman, and loved to bird hunt.

He is survived by his son Ted Moore of Vinemont, AL, one brother Shorty McNew and his wife Vonell of LA, one grandson T.J. Moore of Vinemont, AL. Special friend of the family for many years, Mari Townsend of Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Moore, his parents Hosea & Alvie McNew, one daughter Barbara Ann Moore, one sister Evelyn Weeks and two brothers Gilbert & Wayne Moore.

Mr. Allen Hall Anglin, age 78, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at Quitman County Health & Rehab in Marks, MS. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until service time beginning 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks, MS. Interment will follow Longtown Cemetery, Longtown, MS.

Mr. Anglin, a retired carpenter, enjoyed yard work and riding to Crowder, MS. Church was his main focus and he was a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Those whom he left to cherish his memory include his wife Wanda Faye Jones Anglin of Crenshaw, MS; two daughters Wanda Bailey of Locke Station, MS; Lisa Webb and her husband John of Crenshaw, MS. Four grandchildren, Crystal Bailey of Marks, MS; George Lewis "Bubba" Bailey of Batesville, MS; Rodney Anglin & Bradley Anglin both of Crenshaw, MS; three great grandchildren, Sierra Patton of Alabama; Millie Anglin of Crenshaw, MS and Georgia Lee Bailey of Batesville, MS. Jo Warrington

 

Jo went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2017 in Fayetteville, Georgia.  She was born in Quitman County, Mississippi, on November 29, 1933, to Henry Earl White and Ollie Stribling White.   Before moving to Fayetteville, GA to be closer to family, she was employed at the Chancery Clerk office for Quitman County.  She was also a legal secretary for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy White. She is survived by three daughters, Susie Brown and Marsha McKibben of Fayetteville, GA and daughter Chris Warrington of Memphis TN, and five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She is also survived by two sisters, Marjorie Harrison of Jackson, MS, and Betty Morris of Clinton, MS and brother, Allen White, of Sugarland, TX.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn.  A memorial service was held on September 23, 2017 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, where Jo was a member for twelve years.

A graveside service will be held on October 14, 2017 2pm at Marks Cemetery.  In event of bad weather, the service will be held at Kimbro Funeral Home, 2nd Ave., Marks, MS.

Mrs. Frances Louise Newman, age 75, passed away Wednesday, October 04, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. There will be a Graveside service beginning 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 07, 2017 at Marks Cemetery in Marks, MS. Interment will follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mrs. Newman was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her daughter Rhonda Newman of Memphis, TN; three sons Nathan Newman of Batesville, MS; Gary Newman of Sardis, MS; David Newman of TX; one sister Mary McDaniel (James) of Houston, MS; three brothers Louis Cotten of Bruce, MS; Floyd Harris (Lynn) of Bruce, MS; Wayne Harris (Dawn) of Pontotoc, MS. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Newman. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Newman, her parents Clifton Cotten and Mayda Scott, two daughters Janice & Cathy Newman and one brother James Cotten.
