Mr. William Aldridge

Marks, MS

Mr. William  Aldridge, age 35, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Memphis, TN. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Faith Baptist Church in Lambert, MS. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at Faith Baptist Church with the  funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Marks Cemetery.

Mr. Aldridge was a truck driver for R & R Express in Courtland, MS and a member of Faith Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Meg Aldridge of Courtland, MS, son Cody Aldridge of Courtland, MS, daughter Hailie Aldridge of Courtland, MS, stepdaughter Mary Elizabeth Farish of Courtland, MS; sister Tracy (Russell) Parsons of Marks, MS,  nieces Madyson & Allana Parsons, both of Marks, MS and his mother Louise Aldridge of Marks, MS.  He was preceded in death by his father, Frankie Aldridge, sisters Elizabeth Ann Aldridge and Terrye Lynn Aldridge, and brother James Wesley Aldridge.

Mr. Michael Derrick Cook

Marks, MS

Mr. Michael Derrick Cook, age 33, passed away on December 13, 2014 in Marks, MS. Family will receive friends at Goodwill Church of God  on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 6:00 pm until service time on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Services will be held at Goodwill Church of God with interment will to follow at  Curtis Union Cemetery.

Mr. Cook was employed at Reed Farms and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Curtis Station. He graduated from North Delta School and then attended Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he received  his Associates Degree in Tool & Die. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Carol Cook of Marks, MS, sister Michelle (Chris) Aldridge of Batesville, MS, brother Dalton Cook of Marks, MS, nephew Christopher Aldridge of Batesville, MS and nieces Carley, Stella and Madeline Aldridge of Batesville, MS. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vera & Carlyle Whitworth and his paternal grandparents, Leona & D.C. Cook.

Mr. David Bridges

Mr David  Bridges, age 70, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 in Memphis TN. Family will recieve friends at a catered reception on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 3:30 pm until 7:00 pm at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will also be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Blue Lake Baptist Church on Monday, December 15, 2014 with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Crowder Cemetery.

Mr. Bridges was a farmer and a member of Blue Lake Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sue Bridges of Lambert, MS, daughters Brandi (Jimmy) Appleton of Pope, MS, Mamie (Vince) Adcock of Courtland, MS; brothers Louis (Elaine) Bridges of Clinton, MS, Leon (Beverly) Bridges of Clinton, MS, Larry (Ann) Bridges of Dauphin Island, AL and six grandchildren; Emily Brown of Park City, Utah, Jeffrey Brown of Kaiser Slaurtern, Germany, Drake Appleton of Pope ,MS, Macy Appleton of Pope, MS, Lee Parker Adcock of Courtland, MS and Will Adcock of Courtland, MS. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Yolanda Bridges Brown, parents Coleman & Edith Bridges, sister Elmira Lusk and brother C.A. Bridges.

William Malcom Bell

Marks, MS

Mr. William Malcom Bell, age 93, passed away on December 09, 2014 in Hiawassee, GA. Graveside visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Lambert Cemetery at 1:30 pm with graveside services beginning at 2:00 pm.

Mr . Bell resided in Chatague Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, GA, served in the United States Army, was employed as a farm worker and attended Goodwill Worship Center in Marks, MS. He is survived by his stepdaughters, Shirley Blevins of Conyers, GA, Betty (Leroy) Powers of Oxford, MS, Joyce Drew of Oxford, MS, Anita Clemonts of Sardis, MS; stepsons Eddie (Donna) Gant of Young Harris, GA, Marvin Gant of Chicago, IL; sisters Sally White & Sadie Rodgers of Hurley, MS;  daughter in laws, Irene Gant Smith and Judy Gant; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Marie Bell, parents William and Hattie Morgan Bell, brothers Ruben and TB Bell, four stepchildren and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Mona Lanell Stroup, age 86, passed away on Thursday, December 04, 2014 in Senatobia, MS. Mrs Stroup was a retired employee of Crowder Schools and a member of Crowder Baptist Church.  She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Stroup of Crowder, MS, Kathy (Silas) Bailey of Courtland, MS, Wanda Faust of Tupelo, MS, Sandra (Donnie) Cook of Senatobia, MS; sons Cecil (Linda) Stroup of Walnut, MS , David (Brenda) Stroup of Pope, MS; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs Stroup was preceded in death by her husband, Bilbo Stroup, parents E .V. & Katherine Mitchell, brother Thomas Young and grandson, Rivers Stroup.

Mrs. Bell  was a retired bank teller from Citizens Bank in Marks, MS and a member of West Marks Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Bell, parents, Paul & Inez Eubanks, grandaughter Jennifer Bell and brother Larry Eubanks. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Rickie) Womble of Marks, MS, sons Robert (Linda) Bell of Nesbit, MS & Keith Bell of Crowder, MS, sister Pauline Eubanks of Marks, MS, three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Mr Sorrells was a retired security guard at Mississippi State Penitentiary  and a member of the Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis & Louise Sorrells, stepson Timothy Shivers and stepdaughters Miriam Bentley and Sherry Lynn Shivers. Mr Sorrells is survived by his stepdaughter Carol Roper of Marks, MS, stepsons Paul (Anges) Shivers of Marks, MS, Ronald Shivers  of Vardaman, MS; sisters Carol (George) Williams of Oakland, MS, Ruben (Christine) Sorrells of Los Lunas, NM, two nieces and two nephews.
