Mr. Bill R. Corbin Sr, age 82, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 in Marks, MS. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Lambert Cemetery.

Mr. Corbin was a farmer and of the Baptist Faith.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Maggie Corbin. He is survived by his companion and caregiver of 44 years , Patsy Fowler Corbin of Lambert, MS, daughters Charlene (Tommy) Mitchell of Lambert, MS, Patricia Everett of Lambert, MS; sons Harold Corbin of Madison, MS, Billy (Amy) Corbin Jr. of Greenville, MS, Billy Ray (Ruby) Fowler of Lambert, MS, Thomas (Hannah) Fowler of Batesville, MS;  grandchildren Robert Corbin, Nathan Corbin, Chase Fowler, Cody Golden, Stacy Golden, Laura Harris, Corbin Fowler, Lexi Fowler, Jaydon Parker, Jaxon Parker and one great grandchild, Kayden Harris.

Mrs. Lillian Louise Bailey Wimberly, age 89, of Lambert, MS, a devoted wife and mother, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland, MS.  Family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2014  at First Baptist Lambert Church from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.  Interment will be held at Lambert Cemetery.
Mrs. Wimberly, fondly called the Avon lady, after selling Avon for 49 years, never met a stranger and loved every person she ever met.  A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lambert, she always supported her church, even when she became a shut-in and moved away.
She was the daughter of the late Victor Earl Bailey and Maggie Muirhead Bailey of Crowder, MS. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Harry Stephens Wimberly, her two grandsons Brandon Bennett and Shannon Bennett, and three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by Connie Wimberly Moore (L.F.) of Southaven, MS, Steve Wimberly (Karen) of Pickwick, TN, David Wimberly (Gayle) of Clinton, MS, Anita Wimberly Bennett (James) of Yazoo City, MS, and Miriam Wimberly Joslin (Frank) of Pace, FL.  The proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, she is also survived by two sisters, Sue Bailey Sutton of Crowder, MS, and Shirley Bailey Vowell of Batesville, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Lambert, MS, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital of Memphis, TN.

Mr. Roy Lynn Griffin

Marks, MS

Mr. Roy Lynn Griffin, age 70, passed away on Monday, September 08, 2014 in Crowder, MS. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Crowder Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm. Interment will be held at Crowder Cemetery.

Mr. Griffin served in the US Army and was a partner of Griffin Construction Co. of Crowder, MS.  He was also a member of Crowder Baptist Church, Crowder Lions Club and Wilson Lake Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillie Mae Griffin and four brothers. Jessie Owen Griffin, Gerald Griffin, Vernon Keith Griffin and Larry Wayne Griffin.  Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Peggy C. Griffin of Crowder, MS, son Cliff (Shea) Griffin of Cleveland, TN, sister Kathy (Gary) Daughtery of Batesville, MS, brothers JW Griffin of Enid, MS, Sammy Griffin of Como, MS and two grandchildren, Lauren Griffin & Carson Griffin, both of Cleveland, TN.

Mrs Virgie Roberson McClure

Marks, MS

Mrs Virgie Roberson McClure, age 76, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in Southaven, MS.  Family will receive friends at a catered reception on Saturday, August 30, 2014  from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Clarksdale, MS.

Mrs McClure attended Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven, MS.  Prior to moving to Southaven, Mrs McClure was retired from Kroger stores in Marks & Clarkdale, and she also owned and operated her own business in Greenville, MS for over 35 years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Dwane McClure, her first husband, Floyd W. Roberson, stepson Michael Anthony (Tony) McClure, grandaughter Stephanie S. Carpenter and her parents James B & Ethel Holman. Mrs McClure  is survived by her daughters, Jan R.  Schaitel of Southaven, MS, Patty Frazier of Robinsonville, MS, Vickie Carpenter Miller of Arlington, TX; three stepsons, Curtis McClure of Waterbury, CT, Marcus (Sharon) McClure of Rock Hill, SC and Lance (Misty) McClure of Southaven, MS; sister  Martha Miller of Southaven, MS and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Mr Jimmy Ray Russell

Mr. Jimmy Ray Russell, age 52, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014,  in Clarksdale MS. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00pm.

Mr. Russell was a member of Community Independent Baptist Church in Lambert, MS.  He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Vivian Russell of Marks, MS, Rachel Russell of Crowder, MS, Samantha Jane Russell of  Crowder, MS, Kaye'Leigh Russell of Enid, MS; son David Russell of  Tillatoba, MS; sisters Vicky Rockwood of Crowder, MS & Diane Henson of Crowder, MS; brother Ronnie Russell of Grenada, MS and five grandchildren. Mrs. Anne Gentry Selby

Marks, MS

Mrs. Anne Gentry Selby, age 78, passed away August 4, 2014 in Marks, MS.  The family will receive friends at a catered reception Tuesday evening, August 5, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Kimbro Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 10:00 am at West Marks Baptist Church.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services beginning at 9:00 am at West Marks Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Marks Cemetery.

A retired bookkeeper with Waller Clinic in Marks, Mrs. Selby was a member of West Marks Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Travis Lamar Selby of Marks, MS; two daughters, Tammy Selby and Melony Gay Selby Gentry of Marks, MS; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Selby was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Gene Selby and Kerry Allen Selby; two grandchildren, Michael Shane Selby and Lesilie Jill Dulog and her parents, Joseph and Florence Gentry.

Kathy Jo Trippe

Marks, MS

Mrs. Kathy Jo Hutcherson Trippe, age 67, left her earthly home to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 13, 2014 in Tupelo, MS. Family will receive friends at a catered reception, Tuesday evening, July 15, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Kimbro  Funeral Home in Marks, MS.  A Service of Celebration will be Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Marks, MS.  Dr. Laurie Jones, Rev. Will Rambo and Rev. James Tidwell will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness, MS at 4:00 pm.

Mrs. Trippe was born in Greenville, MS, at King’s Daughters Hospital on August 27, 1946, to James and Martha Hutcherson. She grew up in Indianola, MS where she graduated from Indianola High School in 1964. She continued her education at Mississippi University for Women where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Music. On June 3, 1968, she married the love of her life, George Herring Trippe, Jr. They made their home in Marks, MS.

She taught music for 37 years:  24 years at Delta Academy and 13 years at Merritt Middle School. Her passion for music was shown as she led music, as an interim choir director, at First Baptist Church, Marks, MS. She taught children to love music, and her summers were filled with teaching them to swim. The many music and swimming lessons she taught allowed her to share her love for life and Jesus Christ with multitudes of students and their families. Later in life, she returned to school to receive her Master’s in Music Education at Delta State University.  She and George were active members of First Baptist Church of Marks. Her love for the Lord shown through as she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and attended several mission trips. Her love for the Lord also shown through as she taught students to appreciate music. The encouragement she offered in the classroom reached beyond the school environment to life lessons students carried with them. She was recently an active member of First United Methodist Church of Indianola - the church of her childhood.

Survivors include her daughters; Salle Belle (Philip) Howell of Tupelo, MS, Mary Margaret (Larry) Calvert of Marks, MS, her father James (Ferne) Hutcherson of Indianola, MS, her brother James (Jeanne) Hutcherson, Jr. of McComb, MS, and six grandchildren, Mary Katherine, Sarah, Trippe and Wynn Howell of Tupelo, MS, Katie Grace and George Calvert of Marks, MS. Survivors also include Ferne’s daughters, Linda (Joel) Hill of Greenville, MS, Helen Ruth (Joe) Hendon of Canton, MS, her in-laws, Kathryn Ann (David) Marlow of Ruleville, MS, Ed Pratt (Donna) Trippe of Inverness, MS, Billy (Karen) Trippe of Pink Hill, NC and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, George H. Trippe, Jr., her mother Martha Herring Hutcherson, her mother and father-in-law Sarah Frances Trippe and George H. Trippe, Sr.

Mrs. Katherine "Kate" Purdy, age 101 , passed away on Sunday June 22, 2014 in Ruleville, MS. Family will receive friends at Lambert United Methodist Church on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm with the funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Interment will be held at Lambert Cemetery.

Mrs. Purdy was retired from Garan MFG in Lambert, MS and a member of Lambert United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Claude "Buddy" Purdy, son Charles "Bubba" Purdy, granddaughters Patricia Udo & Debbie Hardy; great grandson Clifford Udo and great granddaughter Shelby Southeard. Mrs. Purdy is survived by her daughters Mayford (Gerald) Escue of Oakland CA, Margie (Durwood) Bruce of Dothan AL, Shelby (Pete) Williams of Spring City, TN and Sissy Gentry of Enid, MS; son Bill (Frankie) Purdy of Courtland, MS; eighteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and eighteen great great grandchildren.

Nursing Home. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Osie & Lillian  Shaffer, brothers James Allen & Bill Shaffer and sister Ruth Henley.
