Mr. Walter Kendall Babb, age 58, passed away Thursday June 23, 2016 at his residence in Marks, MS. The family will receive friends at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday June 25, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until service time beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mr. Babb was an Engineer Assistant for MDOT.

Mr. Babb is survived by his wife Jennie Babb of Clarksdale, MS., one daughter Shelby Kendall Babb of Clarksdale, MS., one son Sean (Laura) Babb of Clarksdale, MS., and one brother Joey (Donna) Babb of Madison, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe & Eloise Babb.

Mrs. Sue Rakestraw

Marks, MS.

Mrs. Sue Rakestraw, age 79, passed away Wednesday June 22, 2016 at Merit Health in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Saturday June 25, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until service time 11:00 a.m at West Marks Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mrs. Rakestraw was a retired secretary for Wade Inc. in Marks MS and was also a member of West Marks Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rakestraw is survived by her daughter Cindy(Cricket) Brewer of Marks, MS., son Ricky(Donna) Rakestraw of Pontotoc, MS., brother Larry(Jackie) Brewer of Hernando, MS. Also surviving Mrs. Rakestraw are four grandchildren Robin(Mark) Jackson of Grenada MS., Holden Brewer of Marks MS, Codi Crew & Lawrence Rakestraw of Pontotoc, MS. and two great grandchildren Kaitye & Whitten Jackson of Grenada, MS.. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Rakestraw,her parents Holder & Lillian Brewer.

Mr. R.C. "Cope" Mitchell

Marks, MS.

Mr. R.C. "Cope" Mitchell, age 88, passed away at his residence early Tuesday morning June 21, 2016. The funeral service will be held Thursday June 23, 2016 11:00 a.m. at Blue Lake Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Mitchell a faithful member of Blue Lake Baptist Church since 1960 and was retired.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife Betty Mitchell of Lambert, MS., one daughter Rita Knudsen of Cumming, GA., one son Larry (Virgie) Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL. and two grandchildren David (Josette) Knudsen of Cumming, GA. & Larissa (Joseph) Gorden of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents A.C. & Annie Mitchell, son-in-law Buck Knudsen one grandson Mitchell Knudsen, three sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Gloria Golden, age 69, passed away Saturday June 18, 2016 at her residence in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Wednesday June 22, 2016 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Belen Cemetery in Belen, MS and a Graveside service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Belen Cemetery.

Mrs. Golden was a retired CNA for Quitman County Nursing Home in Marks, MS.

Mrs. Golden is survived by her daughter Rhonda Jenkins of Batesville, MS., three step- daughters Lisa Golden (Jimmy) Mills of Crowder, MS., Angela Golden Brewer of Batesville, MS., and Rhonda Golden (David) Tutor of Olive Branch, MS. Sons Terry Potts of Batesville, MS and Danny (Emily) Potts of Coles Point, MS. Twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Golden. She was preceded in death by her husband J.C. Golden, her parents Roy & Bobbie Kelly and one grand daughter Shelby Golden.

Mrs. Grace "Kay" Cunningham

Mrs. Grace "Kay" Cunningham, age 99, passed away Friday June 17, 2016 at Quitman County Health & Rehab in Marks. The family will hold a Memorial & Fellowship service on Friday June 24, 2016 in the fellowship hall at Marks Presbyterian Church from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. with an immediate interment at Marks Cemetery.

Mrs. Cunningham was a retired American History teacher for Marks High School and Delta Academy in Marks. She was also a member of Marks Presbyterian Church and the Marks Garden Club.

Mrs. Cunningham is survived by four daughters Shelby Tripp of Ironton, MO., Vicki (Jack) Robison of Batesville, MS., Emily (Terry) Ashworth of Nesbit, MS., Judy (Tripp) Green of Lambert, MS. One son George Cunningham of Moon Lake, MS. Also surviving Mrs. Cunningham are eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter & Alice Mayden, one daughter Mary Jim Cunningham, three sisters & three brothers.

Mrs. Shirley Moore, age 93, passed away on Sunday June 05, 2016 at Methodist North in Memphis, TN. Interment will follow in Lambert Cemetery, Lambert, MS.

Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and a faithful member of Walnut Baptist Church in Vance, MS.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband of 74 years, Andrew Moore of Memphis, TN., one son Ted (Gala) Moore of Vinemont, AL., two sisters Corrine (Sonny) Carswell of Kingwood, TX. and Margie (Robert) Dye of Coldwater, MS. Also surviving Mrs. Moore is her only grandchild T.J. Moore of Vinemont, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents John Ems & Era Chrestman, her daughter Barbara Ann Moore, sister Nell Landry and brother J.E. Chrestman.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Smith

Mrs. Patricia Ann Smith, age 63, of Darling, MS. passed away on Tuesday May 17, 2016 in Sarah, MS.

Pat was born in Shaw, MS on September 11, 1952 to Roy & Annie Mae Skelton. She married David Smith in March of 1973 and became a homemaker. She enjoyed entertaining the neighborhood kids, shopping, spending time with family and loved the outdoors, especially summer.

Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter Candice Smith (David) Freeman of Sarah, MS, a very special sister Tracy Mills (Lisa) of Sarah, MS. two brothers Eddie (Cathy) Skelton and Dino (Stacy) Mills both of Darling, MS. six precious grandchildren Logan Drake Bailey, Alexis Gabriale Bailey, Perry David Bailey all of Sarah, MS. David Wayne Smith III, Destin Suzanne Smith and Danny Allen Smith all of Batesville, MS. Also a very special friend, Ricky Terry. Besides her parents, Roy & Annie Mae Skelton, Pat was preceded in death by her step-father Jerry Mills, her husband David Wayne Smith, and her only son David Wayne "Dusty" Smith II.

Pat chose to donate her body to Genesis Medical Education & Research Institute. A Celebration of Life was held by family and friends at Pat's home in Darling, MS. on May 21, 2016. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to :

Mr. James A. (Jim) Hooten

Marks, MS.

Mr. James (Jim) Hooten, age 75, passed away Wednesday May 11, 2016 in Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends at a catered reception on Friday May 13, 2016 at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until service time beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mr. Hooten was a retired agriculture chemical sales manager for Helena Chemical Co. and a farmer.  He was a former member of Marks & Darling Baptist Church, and also a member of Wilson Lake Country Club where he attained the nickname "Boomer" from his golfing  buddies.

Mr. Hooten is survived by his daughter Sharon (Bobby) Wofford of Eads, TN.; his son Jay (Susan) Hooten of Germantown, TN.; two sisters Brenda (Albert) Calderone of Silverdale, WA. and Teri (Tim) Miller of Marston, MO. Also surviving Mr. Hooten are his three precious grandchildren Caroline Wofford of Eads, TN., Hillary Wofford of Eads, TN., Olivia Hooten of Germantown, TN. Preceding  Mr. Hooten in death were his wife Martha Hooten, his parents Clyde & Elizabeth Hooten, sister Sarah Majori, brothers Ronald & Bobby Hooten.

Ms. Boyd was a homemaker and a member of West Pensacola Baptist Church in Florida.

Ms. Boyd is survived by her daughters Michale Melton, Samantha (Chris) Ott, & Dianna Melton all of Pensacola, FL., her son Kevin (Ashley) Melton of Charleston, MS., sister Tina Akins of Pensacola, FL., brothers Jimmie Lane (Nena) Melton Jr. of Drew, MS., Johnny (Betty) Melton of Coffeeville, MS. and Billy (Dianna) Melton of Tillatoba, MS. Six Grandchildren also survive Ms. Boyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie & Elizabeth Melton.
