Mr. Thomas R. (Sonny) Mills Jr.

Mr. Thomas R. (Sonny) Mills Jr., age 78, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ms. Family will receive friends at a catered reception on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel. Services for Mr. Mills will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Kimbro Chapel. Interment will be held at Marks Cemetery. Pall bearers will be: Terry Mills, Gary Mills, Dino Mills, Jason Mills, Davis Mills, Rusty Wright, Bernie Wright, and Hunter Phelps.

Mr. Mills was a self employed farmer, Veteran of US Army and a member of Darling Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter Edie (Terry) Ivey of Birdie, Ms; sons Tommy Mills and Mike (Melinda) Mills of Marks, Ms; sisters, Sue Skelton, Betty Rodgers, and June Webb of Utica, Ms also Irene Tortorich of New Orleans, LA. one brother, Buddy Mills of Darling, Ms. Grandchildren: Mills Cox of Boulder,Co., Leyton Mills of Birdie, Ms. Ashton Mills of Marks, Ms., Michael Mills of Marks, Ms., Kristen Smith of Darling, Ms. Mr. Mills also leaves his Special Niece Miffie(Rusty) Wright of Birdie, Ms. and Special Nephew Lee (Christine) Mckee of Houston, Tx. Special great neice, Amanda Wright of Birdie, Ms.  God daughter, Jennifer (Hunter) Phelps, Lea Ellison and Ana Rustyn of Sardis, Ms. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Gail Howell Mills; Father, Thomas Robertus Mills Sr.; Mother, Mary Edith Cordel; Sisters, Sarah Shaw, Joan Mills, Louise Bua, and Helen Swindoll; Brothers, Ray Mills, DA Mills, Jerry Mills and Hal Mills.

Mrs Ina Grace Ikerd White

Marks , MS

Mrs. Ina Grace Ikerd White, age 86, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. White, a native of Marks, MS, was a retired bookkeeper with Synergy Gas in W. Memphis AK.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Wayne White; her parents, J.W. and Missouria Ikerd; and her sister, Marie Murphy. She is survived by her daughter, Susan C. Rogers of Lawrenceville, GA; son, Steven S. White of Hernando, MS; sister, Thirza Dulin of Winona, MS; grandchildren, Amanda Hilliard and Adam Rogers of Atlanta and  great grandchildren, Tristan Rogers and Addison Rogers.

Ms. Nancy Marion Styring Hughes

Marks, MS

Ms. Nancy Marion Styring Hughes, age 72, passed away on Saturday, June 06, 2015 at her home in Marks, MS. Family will receive friends on Monday, June 08, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Marks Presbyterian Church with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Marks Cemetery.

Ms. Hughes was a graduate of Northside High School in Atlanta, GA , attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA and graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with her B.A. in English. She was president of Kappa Alpha Theta, served on the student council association; was vice president of the Panhellenic Council and a staff member of the Commodore newspaper. Upon graduation, Ms. Hughes taught at Delta Academy in Marks, MS and Quitman County School District where she was recognized for her outstanding service.  She also worked as a real estate appraiser and was a member of Marks Presbyterian Church and the Marks Garden Club.

Ms. Hughes is survived by her daughters Virginia "Ginny" (Chad) Moser of Clarksdale, MS, Nancy (Cameron) Arcemont of Madison, MS; brother James "Jim" (Michelle) Styring of Atlanta,GA; four grandchildren, Emily and Will Moser of Clarksdale, MS,  Hill and Elizabeth Arcemont of Madison, MS and  dear friend, Sydney Guest of Oxford, MS. She was preceded by her parents H. Earl and Louise Hill Styring.

Mrs. Bettye J. Green

Marks, MS

Mrs Bettye J. Green, age 84, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Crystal Health in Greenwood, MS. Family will recieve friends at a catered reception on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lambert Cemetery.  She was born on June 07, 1930 in Bruce, MS to the late Wiley and Byrd Long. Bettye was a retired secretary and a member of the Coffeeville United  Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Green and two grandchildren, Clare and Grace Green. Mrs. Green is survived by her three sons, Tripp (Judy) Green of Lambert, MS, David (Cheryl) Green of Lambert, MS and Bryan (Patricia) Green of Warner Robbbins, GA; four grandchildren Leslie, Lauren (Claire), William & Emily and two great grandchildren Ann Grace and Mamie.

Mrs. Jewel H. White

Marks, MS

Mrs. Jewel H. White, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Oxford, MS. Family will recieve friends at a catered reception on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm with the funeral beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at Belen Cemetery.

Mrs.  White graduated from Delta State University in 1966 and was employed by Coahoma County  Schools as an elementary teacher and music teacher, She was a member of Belen Baptist Church since 1950 and was actively involved in the music ministry, serving as organist, pianist and choir director. Mrs. White is survived by her son, Bill White of Athens, GA and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lex White, son Richard D. White, parents J.D. and Maude Haralson, sister Katherine Haralson Holloway and two brothers Joseph H. Haralson and Richard T. Haralson.

Marks, MS

Mr. Bobby L. Dover, age 76, passed away on April 18, 2015 in Oxford MS. Family will receive friends at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 pm. Services will be held at Crowder Cemetery.

Mr. Dover  was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Baptist Faith, the American Legion and AMVets of America. He was also the owner of County Line Bar and was employed as a heavy equipment operator at W.T. Byler in Houston, TX.

He is survived by his life partner, Linda Swain of Crowder, MS, daughter Melissa Dover of Huffman, TX; son Jerry (Sonnie) Dover of Pope, MS;  stepson Robert (Marcy) Swain of Scott AFB in Illinois; sister Betty (Gus) White of Collins, MS; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley & Birdie Mae Dover, daughter Bobbie Jean Little, granddaughter Jerri Lynn Dover Tutor and two brothers Billy Mack Dover and Jim Wesley Dover Jr.

Mrs. Jewel Lee Segars, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 08, 2015 in Marks, MS. Mrs. Segars was a retired supervisor from Barth MFG Co. in Marks, MS.  She also was the owner/operater  of Segars Day & Night Convenience Store and  a member of West Marks Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Potts (Johnny) Towery of Crenshaw, MS, son William Terry (Penny) Potts of Senatobia, MS; stepdaughters Carol (Kevin) Baker of Madison, MS & Cindy (Pat) Bankston of Clarksdale, MS; grandchildren Justin (Jennifer) Towery of Hamburg, AR, Lee (Greg) Hissong of Arkabutla, MS; five step - grandchildren Mary Susan (Wayne) Cobb of Cleveland, MS, Valerie Bankston of Charleston, MS, Chase Baker, Samuel Baker &  Nathaniel Baker, all of  Madison, MS; six great grandchildren, Alexandra Towery & Lawson Towery of Hamburg, AR, Hunter Hissong & Avery Hissong of Arkabutla, MS, James William Potts & Jeweleigh Potts of Sardis, MS and two step  great -grandchildren Sara Chesley Cobb and Jax Cobb, both of Cleveland, MS.

Mrs. Mary Anderson, age 100, passed away on Sunday, April 05, 2015 at her residence in Lambert, MS.  Graveside services will be held at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, April 07, 2015 at Lambert Cemetery in Lambert, MS.

Mrs. Anderson was a retired school teacher for Lambert Jr. High and a member of Lambert Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Mimi (Robert) Mehrle of Lambert, MS; grandchildren, Anderson (Laurel) Mehrle of Bartlesville, OK Kerk (Elizabeth) Mehrle of Jackson, MS. Elizabeth (Jason) Hawkins of Ridgeland, MS. Great-grandchildren, Pryor, Matthew, Anderson and Virginia Mehrle, Catherine and Gray Hawkins, Tyrus Mehrle. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Edward Henry Anderson, daughter, Martha Yeager Anderson; Parents Ida and David Pritchard; sisters Avis Smith and Ruby Russell; brothers, Dr. Clarence Pritchard and Dr. Tyrus Pritchard.

Thomas Craig Simpson

Marks, MS

Thomas Craig Simpson, age 57, passed away on Wednesday, April 01, 2015 in Memphis, TN.

Born April 27, 1957 in Flint, MI, Tom lived in Lambert, MS and was employed by the Town of Lambert. You could find him wearing many hats and filling many different positions, depending on what the day held. Until his death, Tom was a member of the Lambert and Marks Volunteer Fire Department, a member of Lambert Methodist Church where he was actively involoved in L.U.M.C. Mens Club and he also served as Vice Chair of the Quitman County Food Pantry. Survivors include his parents, Criss and JoeAnn Simpson of Lambert, MS; brother Steven Criss Simpson of Chipley, FL, sister DeAnn (Clayton) Simpson Williams of Ackerman, MS;  foster sister Shelly Taft of Houston, TX; nephew Patrick Williams of Lambert, MS, nieces Ashley Williams of Ackerman, MS, Courtney Williams of Ackerman, MS & Brenda Cobb of Graceville, FL; great niece Mimi Williams and two great nephews Nicholas and Triston Porter; longtime family friend Sid Wimberly and family of Bakersfield, CA and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.

Services will be held at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 06, 2015. A catered reception will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm with a memorial service to follow. Upon cremation, graveside services will be held at McCurtian's Creek Baptist Church in Stewart, MS. Relatives and friends will be welcome at Lambert Methodist Church immediately following the service.

At the request of Tom, donations may be made to Lambert/Marks Volunteer Fire Department or Quitman County Food Pantry in lieu of flowers.

David L. Hays

Marks, MS

Mr. David Lee Hays, age 63, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Aurora, CO. Family will receive friends at a catered reception on Saturday, April 04, 2015 from  1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Marks Cemetery.

Mr. Hays was self employed as a Transition Coordinator in Denver, CO and a member of the Baptist faith. He also served in the Vietnam Conflict  and was an advocate & activist for Disabled Rights.

He is survived by his wife Dawn Russell of Denver, CO; sons Parker  and Patrick Hays of Memphis, TN and sisters Eva Claire Penrose of Pensacola, FL and Nora June Meadows of Rugby, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brewer and Ruth Hays, sister Betty Rogers & brother Dennis Hays.
