Mrs. Johnnie E. Wofford, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, October  21, 2014 in Memphis,TN. Family will receive friends at a catered reception on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Marks Cemetery.

Mrs Wofford was a retired merchant for Wofford & Sons in Darling, MS and a longtime member of Darling Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her huband William Earl Wofford Sr.  Mrs Wofford is survived by her daughter, Emily (Lynn) Barmer of DeSoto, TX, sons William Earl (Janet) Wofford Jr. of Andalusia, AL, Robert Arnold (Sharon) Wofford of Eads, TN, sisters Gladys Blackwood Ross of Senatobia, MS and Joan Dancy Gee of Marks, MS, six grandchildren, Jennifer Barmer of DeSoto, TX, Bradley Barmer of Austin, TX, Sarah Wofford of Bowling Green, OH, Caroline Wofford of Oxford, MS, Catherine Wofford of Andalusia, AL and Hillary Wofford of Eads, TN.

Percy “Pops” Blair

Percy “Pops” Blair, 67, of North Chicago died on October 17, 2014 in Marks, MS. He was born February 3, 1947 to Mattie and Percy Blair. He met and married Thelma Blair and from this marriage had 6 kids. He is survived by his mom Mattie Blair; sons Percy (Nancy) Blair, Joe (Kathleen) Blair, Johnny Blair, Jame Blair, Eric Veal, and Vondell Wilbourn; daughter Johanna Veal; brother Booker T. Rucker; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter Jolene Carr and son Joel Allen Blair. Visitation Monday, October 27, 2014, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, followed by a funeral service at 11:00. Interment Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the family.

Ms. Shirley Moore

Marks, MS

Ms. Shirley Marie Moore, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Oxford, MS. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11:30 am at Bethel Church Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.

Ms Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lillian Moore, sister Marjorie Moore, brothers Edward 'Buster' Moore, Leland Moore, Jimmy Moore and Richard Moore. She is survived by her sisters, Eunita Austin of Crowder, MS & Judy Flowers of Columbus, MS and brother Joe S. (Wanda) Moore of Randolph, MS.

Mr Bobby D. Mitchem

Marks, MS

Mr. Bobby D. Mitchem, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home in Marks, MS after battling illness for sometime. Bobby was a loving man and will be missed very much by his family and friends. He leaves his wife of thirty eight years, Etta Marie Mitchem, daughters, Wendy Marie and Samantha, sisters, Kathy Daniels, Nita Martin and Debbie Pullins all of Florida and his mother in law and father in law, James and Charlotte Roseberry. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard McKelvey who passed away on Sunday, Ocotober 12, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Crowder Baptist Church.

Mrs Gertrude Viola Hawkins, age 84, passed away on Thursday, October 09, 2014 in Oxford, MS. Family will recieve friends at a catered reception from 11:00 am untill 1:00 pm at Kimbro Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2014.  The graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm at Stevens Cemetery in Mantachie MS.

Mrs  Hawkins was a homemaker and a member of Belen Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Buice, grandson Stephen Guthrie, two sisters and three brothers. Mrs Hawkins is survived by her husband, D.L. Hawkins of Marks, MS, daughter Marsha Selby of Marks, MS, sons Rickey (Chris) Hawkins of Marks, MS and Dorman (Margaret) Hawkins of Mantachie, MS, eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Mrs. Myrna Koger, age 82, passed away on Sunday, October 05, 2014 in Batesville, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. H. Koger, parents I. E. & Ola Daniels, brothers Kenneth Wayne Daniels, Freddie Daniels, Curt Daniels, Earl "Hook" Daniels, and sister Violet Daniels. She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Bryant of Batesville, MS, son Mike Koger of Batesville, MS, sisters Jean Allen, Wanda Hall & Nelda Fagan, all of Toccopola, MS, brothers Frankie Daniels of Ponotoc, MS, William Daniels of Algoma, MS; eight grandchildren and twenty great -grandchildren.

He is survived by his companion and caregiver of 44 years , Patsy Fowler Corbin of Lambert, MS, daughters Charlene (Tommy) Mitchell of Lambert, MS, Patricia Everett of Lambert, MS; sons Harold Corbin of Madison, MS, Billy (Amy) Corbin Jr. of Greenville, MS, Billy Ray (Ruby) Fowler of Lambert, MS, Thomas (Hannah) Fowler of Batesville, MS;  grandchildren Robert Corbin, Nathan Corbin, Chase Fowler, Cody Golden, Stacy Golden, Laura Harris, Corbin Fowler, Lexi Fowler, Jaydon Parker, Jaxon Parker and one great grandchild, Kayden Harris.

Mrs Lillian Louise Wimberly

Marks, MS
Mrs. Lillian Louise Bailey Wimberly, age 89, of Lambert, MS, a devoted wife and mother, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland, MS.  Family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2014  at First Baptist Lambert Church from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.  Interment will be held at Lambert Cemetery.
Mrs. Wimberly, fondly called the Avon lady, after selling Avon for 49 years, never met a stranger and loved every person she ever met.  A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lambert, she always supported her church, even when she became a shut-in and moved away.
She was the daughter of the late Victor Earl Bailey and Maggie Muirhead Bailey of Crowder, MS. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Harry Stephens Wimberly, her two grandsons Brandon Bennett and Shannon Bennett, and three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by Connie Wimberly Moore (L.F.) of Southaven, MS, Steve Wimberly (Karen) of Pickwick, TN, David Wimberly (Gayle) of Clinton, MS, Anita Wimberly Bennett (James) of Yazoo City, MS, and Miriam Wimberly Joslin (Frank) of Pace, FL.  The proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, she is also survived by two sisters, Sue Bailey Sutton of Crowder, MS, and Shirley Bailey Vowell of Batesville, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Lambert, MS, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital of Memphis, TN.

Mr. Roy Lynn Griffin

Mr. Roy Lynn Griffin, age 70, passed away on Monday, September 08, 2014 in Crowder, MS. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Crowder Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm. Interment will be held at Crowder Cemetery.

Mr. Griffin served in the US Army and was a partner of Griffin Construction Co. of Crowder, MS.  He was also a member of Crowder Baptist Church, Crowder Lions Club and Wilson Lake Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillie Mae Griffin and four brothers. Jessie Owen Griffin, Gerald Griffin, Vernon Keith Griffin and Larry Wayne Griffin.  Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Peggy C. Griffin of Crowder, MS, son Cliff (Shea) Griffin of Cleveland, TN, sister Kathy (Gary) Daughtery of Batesville, MS, brothers JW Griffin of Enid, MS, Sammy Griffin of Como, MS and two grandchildren, Lauren Griffin & Carson Griffin, both of Cleveland, TN.
