Alan James Hall Smith, four months old, passed away Wednesday November 16, 2016 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. The family will receive friends on Monday November 21, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. until service time beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lambert Cemetery.

Alan is survived by his parents, Alan and Amrey Smith of Lambert, MS., one sister Alana Smith of Coldwater, MS., five brothers A.J. Mr. William Edward Bailey

Marks, MS.

Mr. William Edward Bailey, age 86, passed away Monday morning November 07, 2016 at his residence in Southaven, MS. The family will receive friends at a catered reception on Wednesday November 09, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until service time beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Barbee Cemetery in Lula, MS.

Mr. Bailey was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a two term Justice Court Judge for Desoto Co.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife Lois Bailey of Southaven, MS., three daughters Diane (Ralph) Miller of Southaven, MS., Teresa (Wayne) Hargett of Charleston, MS. and Becky Bailey (Tony Berry) of Southaven, MS., one sister Rena Hoover of Sacramento, CA., five grandchildren Robby Hargett of Oxford, MS., Andrew Hargett of Hot Springs, AR., Amanda Miller of Southaven, MS., Rachel Miller of Southaven, MS. and Jessica Evans of Cordova, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents Eli and Mary Bailey, five sisters and four brothers.

Mr. James William "Bill" Green

Marks, MS.

Mr. Bill Green, age 75, passed away on October 24, 2016 at his residence in Sarah, MS. The family will receive friends on Friday October 28, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until service time beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Crenshaw First Baptist Church in Crenshaw, MS. Interment will follow in Longtown Cemetery.

Mr. Green was retired from the State of Mississippi and formerly in the National Guard.

Surviving Mr. Green are two nieces Susie Price of Senatobia, MS., Lisa Cummins of Sarah, MS., two aunts Hazel Fanshaw of TN., Sookie Powell of San Antonio, TX., two uncles Jack Hunziker of TN., Homer Hunziker of Tracy City, TN., and a host of family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents James & Edwena Green and one sister Mary Evelyn Green Bross.

Mrs. Suzanne Prahl, age 54, passed away  Friday afternoon October 07, 2016. The family will receive friends at a catered reception on Sunday, October 09, 2016 at Kimbro Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mrs. Prahl was a clerk for Quitman County Library in Marks.

Mrs. Prahl is survived by her husband Bruce Prahl of Marks, MS., her mother Ann (Robert) Harrington of Marks, MS., one daughter Ashley Elizabeth (Dustin) Smith of Marion, AR., tow sons Tom Edimonson of West Point, MS., and Drew (Randi) Prahl of Olive Branch, MS., four sisters Sissy (Pat) Davis of Clarksdale, MS., Dabney Elizabeth Pelegrin of Sarasota, FL., Cissy Kirvin of Clarksdale, MS., and Jill (W.T.) Goode of Independence, MS., two brothers Jerry (Tammy) Pelegrin of Tupelo, MS., and Jay (Kristie) Harrington of Cordova, TN., three grandchildren Austin Bridges of Greenville, MS., Gavin Edminson of Locke Station, MS., and Carson Smith of Marion, AR. A hosts of loving nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Prahl. She was preceded in death by he father Carson Montgomery Pelegrin and son Tyler McCoy Prahl.

Mrs. Marjorie Thompson

Marks, MS,

Mrs. Marjorie Thompson, age 93, passed away Wednesday morning September 28, 2016 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. The family will receive friends on Saturday October 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until service time beginning 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Marks, MS. Interment to follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was a retired school teacher,former member of The Marks Garden Club, WMU, and a member of First Baptist Church of Marks.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter, Taffy Roper of Mobile, AL., and her son Lee H. (Terri) Thompson Jr. of Mooreville, MS. Six Grandchildren and Five Great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee H. Thompson Sr., her parents E.A. & Pauline Temple, two sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Betty Ann Gurley, age 74, passed away Thursday night September 08, 2016 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends at a catered reception on Saturday September 10, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home. An additional visitation will be held on Sunday September 11, 2016 at Marks First Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until service time beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Clarksdale, MS.

Mrs. Gurley, a retired store owner for Gurley's Inc. in Marks was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Betty is survived by her husband Frank Gurley of Marks, MS. two daughters Robyn (Mark) Williams of Marks, MS., Kristy (Cliff) Heffner of Marks, MS., four sons Rusty (Terri) Gurley of Batesville, MS., Bill (Carol) Gurley of Marks, MS., Freddie Gurley of Marks, MS., Ty (Ali) Gurley of Marks, MS., one sister Jimmie Faye (William) Sneed of Darling, MS., twenty-three grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Dempsey & Lorine Pierce and one daughter Margie Gurley.

Mr. Smith was a retired truck driver for Corso Inc. in Clarksdale, MS.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife Irene Smith of Crowder, MS., one daughter Melinda(Mike) Mills of Marks, MS., sons Bobby (Tina) Bird of Thompsonville, IL., Billy Bird of Melrose Park, IL., David Smith of Tampa, FL., Tim (Jenny) Smith of Villa Park, IL., Johnny Smith of Addison, IL., Jimmy (Jackie) Gant of Loganville, GA., and Tommy (Julie) Gant of Kennasaw, GA. Twenty-three Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren and a host of loving Nieces & Nephews also survive Mr. Smith. Mrs. Betty Loftis Collins, age 80, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her residence in Batesville, MS. Mrs. Collins was a former church secretary for West Marks Baptist Church in Marks, MS and was a member of Crowder Baptist Church in Crowder, MS.

Surviving Mrs. Collins are her husband, Major Billy Collins of Batesville, MS., one brother Larry Loftis of Batesville, MS. and  two step sons Greg(Susan) Collins of Batesville, MS., Gary(Carla) Collins of Petal, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert & Mary Loftis two brothers Chuck & Robert Loftis.

Mrs. Mildred M.Jamison

Marks, MS

Mrs. Mildred M. Jamison, age 97, passed away Friday evening August 26, 2016 at Quitman County Health & Rehab in Marks, MS. An 11:00 a.m. Graveside celebration of life will be held on Monday August 29, 2016 at Marks Cemetery with Rev. Will Overstreet officiating.  Interment to follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mrs. Jamison was a retired sales clerk at The Gift Shop located inside the former Stone's Drug Store in Marks. She was the oldest member of Marks First Baptist church and a member of The Marks Garden Club earlier in her life.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters Cornelia(Charles) Henry of Oxford, MS., Linda(Eddie) Loper of Laurel, MS., one son John B.(Sandra) Jamison of Marks, MS., a special friend Zane (Kathy Jo) Alford of Tocowa, MS. Nine grandchildren and Thirteen Great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Jamison. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Jamison, her parents William & Myrtle Moore, one son Charles William "Bill" Jamison, four sisters and one brother.
