Mrs. Patricia Ann Smith

Marks, MS.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Smith, age 63, of Darling, MS. passed away on Tuesday May 17, 2016 in Sarah, MS.

Pat was born in Shaw, MS on September 11, 1952 to Roy & Annie Mae Skelton. She married David Smith in March of 1973 and became a homemaker. She enjoyed entertaining the neighborhood kids, shopping, spending time with family and loved the outdoors, especially summer.

Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter Candice Smith (David) Freeman of Sarah, MS, a very special sister Tracy Mills (Lisa) of Sarah, MS. two brothers Eddie (Cathy) Skelton and Dino (Stacy) Mills both of Darling, MS. six precious grandchildren Logan Drake Bailey, Alexis Gabriale Bailey, Perry David Bailey all of Sarah, MS. David Wayne Smith III, Destin Suzanne Smith and Danny Allen Smith all of Batesville, MS. Also a very special friend, Ricky Terry. Besides her parents, Roy & Annie Mae Skelton, Pat was preceded in death by her step-father Jerry Mills, her husband David Wayne Smith, and her only son David Wayne "Dusty" Smith II.

Pat chose to donate her body to Genesis Medical Education & Research Institute. A Celebration of Life was held by family and friends at Pat's home in Darling, MS. on May 21, 2016. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to :

Mr. James A. (Jim) Hooten

Marks, MS.

Mr. James (Jim) Hooten, age 75, passed away Wednesday May 11, 2016 in Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends at a catered reception on Friday May 13, 2016 at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until service time beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Marks Cemetery.

Mr. Hooten was a retired agriculture chemical sales manager for Helena Chemical Co. and a farmer.  He was a former member of Marks & Darling Baptist Church, and also a member of Wilson Lake Country Club where he attained the nickname "Boomer" from his golfing  buddies.

Mr. Hooten is survived by his daughter Sharon (Bobby) Wofford of Eads, TN.; his son Jay (Susan) Hooten of Germantown, TN.; two sisters Brenda (Albert) Calderone of Silverdale, WA. and Teri (Tim) Miller of Marston, MO. Also surviving Mr. Hooten are his three precious grandchildren Caroline Wofford of Eads, TN., Hillary Wofford of Eads, TN., Olivia Hooten of Germantown, TN. Preceding  Mr. Hooten in death were his wife Martha Hooten, his parents Clyde & Elizabeth Hooten, sister Sarah Majori, brothers Ronald & Bobby Hooten.

Ms. Mary Beth Melton Boyd

Marks, MS.

Ms. Mary Beth Boyd, age 51, passed away on Friday April 22, 2016 in Pensacola, FL. The family will receive friends at a catered reception on Tuesday April 26, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until service time beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel in Marks, MS. Interment to follow at Brazil Cemetery in Brazil, MS.

Ms. Boyd was a homemaker and a member of West Pensacola Baptist Church in Florida.

Ms. Boyd is survived by her daughters Michale Melton, Samantha (Chris) Ott, & Dianna Melton all of Pensacola, FL., her son Kevin (Ashley) Melton of Charleston, MS., sister Tina Akins of Pensacola, FL., brothers Jimmie Lane (Nena) Melton Jr. of Drew, MS., Johnny (Betty) Melton of Coffeeville, MS. and Billy (Dianna) Melton of Tillatoba, MS. Six Grandchildren also survive Ms. Boyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie & Elizabeth Melton.

Mrs. Ouida L. Kennedy

Mrs. Ouida L. Kennedy, age 78, passed away on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at Quitman County Hospital in Marks. The family will receive friends on Friday April 22, 2016 at Peach Creek Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove, MS. from 11:00 a.m. until service time beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Peach Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Kennedy was a retired factory worker for Hygiene in Sardis, MS., loved God & her family.

Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her son Albert (Myra) Kennedy of Charleston, MS., her twin sister Freida (Jack) Kennedy  of Pleasant Grove, MS., brothers Roger (Donna) Stevens of Pleasant Grove, MS. & Larry Stevens of Sardis, MS. Five Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren also survive Mrs. Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Kennedy, parents John & Gladys Stevens, sister Lottie Lantrip and brothers Calvin, Lynn, Andy & J.W. Stevens.

Mrs. Craig was a retired factory worker for the hosiery mill in Batesville, MS.

Surviving Mrs. Craig are her four sons James Edward Craig, Roger (Laurie) Craig, Gary Wayne Craig all of Marks, MS. and Danny Ray Craig of Louisiana, five sisters Julienne Wilson, Christine Hill, Juanita Forbis and Linda Presley all of Truman, AR. and Pam Goldy of Marion, AR., one brother David Rogers of Drummonds, TN., eight grandchildren; Tonya, Little Dee, J.R., Sarah, Michael, Jon, Hunter & Fisher Craig. Five great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Craig. She was preceded in death by her husband Dee Edward Craig, Jr. her parents James & Aileen Rogers, one sister Shirley Ann Burger and one brother Thomas Rogers.

Ms. Mary Jane Palmer, age 68, passed away on Sunday March 13, 2016 at Quitman County Hospital in Marks, MS. Family will receive friends at a catered reception on Wednesday March 16, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Interment will follow in Longtown Cemetery.

Ms. Palmer was a homemaker and loved her family.

She is survived by her sister Linda (Gerald) Austin of Lambert, MS. and brother James Hamm of Blytheville, AR. Ms. Palmer was preceded in death by her parents Charley & Ruby Hamm, two sisters Gertrude Butler and Louise White, four brothers Jr., Ricky, Jimmy and Alvin Hamm.

Mrs. Kathleen "Katie" O'neal, age 89, passed away on Sunday afternoon February 28, 2016 at Quitman County Hospital in Marks, MS. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel with a Graveside service to follow along with Interment in Marks Cemetery  Tuesday March 01, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. O'neal was a retired nurse in Quitman Co. for Drs. Lynch, Phelps, Quitman County Hospital & Nursing Home for 60 plus years.

Mrs. O'neal is survived by her daughter Patti (Danny) Ellis of Marks, MS. Her sister Bertha Hitchcock of Osceola, AR. Five grandchildren; David Allen Clark of Saltillo, MS., Brian & Stacy Ellis of Atlanta, GA., Kimberly & Angela Clark of Ruleville, MS. Five great grandchildren. A hosts of niece and nephews also survive Mrs. O'neal. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen O'neal, parents Henry and Esther Barnes, one son James Ronald Clark and one brother Rex Henry Barnes.

Mr. Ben Gray "Bud" Barringer, Jr.

Marks, MS.

Mr. Ben Gray "Bud" Barringer, Jr., age 86, passed away on Friday February 26, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS after a brief illness.  The family will receive friends at 10:30 am on Monday February 29, 2016 at Marks Presbyterian Church with a Memorial service beginning at 11:00 am at the church.

Bud was born October 13,1929 and lived his entire life in the Quitman County area. He graduated from Marks High School and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended & graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1950 where he was a member of Delta Psi Fraternity. While at Ole Miss, he met his future wife, Suezette Buehler. He returned to Marks where he and his father operated the family Chevrolet dealership, which was formed in 1937.

During his lifetime, Bud served his community in various capacities. He was a devoted member of the Marks Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief for many years. Additionally, he was most proud of his military service in the Mississippi National Guard where he achieved the rank of captain.

Mr, Barringer is survived by his wife Suezette Barringer; daughters Mary Beth (James) Maxted of Brownwood, TX., Suezette Hankins of Jackson, MS.and Cathy (Tag) Reed of Belzoni, MS. Son, Henry Barringer of Marks, MS. and one sister, Montie Calvert of Little Rock, AR. Twelve grandchildren, Thirteen Great Grandchildren and Two Great-great grandchildren also survive Mr. Barringer. He also eaves behind his much beloved dogs, Beau & Casper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Gray and Mary Barringer, one son Ben Gray Barringer III, and brother James Mack Barringer.
